Mounting the 4800C on the end of the purpose built Riley loader trailer provides loggers with the HG 4800C-LM. The removable trough is held safely in place by two large removable pins and can be transported to any job with ease. Once arriving at the job site, set up is easy. Simply lower the hydraulic landing gear, swing the trough to the left or right, and begin delimbing.
Using a Hydra-Gate, the operator simply pulls the stems through the delimber and allows the stems to fall into the Hydra-Gate trough. As the stems fall into the trough, they naturally fan outward. The loader operator pushes the stems back through the gate - completely delimbing them - and places them on the truck. The Hydra-Gate gives the operator the flexibility to increase production significantly by using the delimber and gate or, if in large wood, the delimber only!
The HG 4800C-LM features the largest throat opening (92) in the industry, making it very easy to place a large bundle of multiple stems from either the left or right side of the machine.
The 4800Cs three 8 forward and two 8 reverse knives (a Riley exclusive) allows the operator to delimb trees in both directions. The extra knife length allows the blade to sever the entire limb from the tree versus cutting it halfway and ripping it off with a shorter knife configuration. The reverse knives and the extra length will improve cycle times and production while reducing stresses on the loader. The knives are mounted to a heavy-duty, low profile 2 knife arm and 4.5 knife arm boss with 2 pins. The Riley knives and mounting system are built tough to ensure a long life in the woods.
The HG 4800C-LM offers the logger the ultimate in flexibility. When working in multiple stems, use the hydra-gate trough. If working in single stems, leave the hydra-gate trough on the trailer or remove it and use the 4800C delimber just like any other delimber. Whether working in hardwood one week or juvenile pine the next, the HG 4800C-LM does both jobs extremely well - giving the owner the versatility to bid different job types competitively with one delimbing system maximizing his investment.
The 4800C features a revolutionary new knife design that will allow the logger to clean up large bundles of multiple stems as well as single stems better than any delimber on the market today. The 4800C, large throat and 26 log diameter circle allows for easy placement of multiple stems. While the 4800Cs circle opens to 26, it makes a perfect circle at 18. This unique design allows loggers the advantage of a large 26 circle for easy placement of multiple stems with the ability to clean up a large single stem or a smaller single stem better than any delimber in its class.

The 4800Cs stout low profile design features a 6 x 6 steel tube frame versus a 4 x 4 or smaller steel tube frame offered by other manufacturers. The 4800Cs advanced design allows for a lower weight (6,800 lbs.) with greater durability since its strength is concentrated in areas of high stress. This provides the logger a machine that will hold up in the toughest logging conditions while providing better maneuverability on the deck.
